Introduction

Eton Solutions offers powerful tools for financial advisors—but power without clarity can become a bottleneck. The original dashboard was packed with data, forms, and dense tables, making it hard for advisors to find what mattered. Key insights were buried. Interactions felt heavy. And decisions were slowed down by friction.

This redesign aimed to declutter the interface, introduce visual hierarchy, and create a scalable design system that supports confident decision-making.

Problems

Cramped Layouts – Important data competed for space across overcrowded forms and tables.

Information Overload – With no structure or hierarchy, users had to scan everything to find anything.

Slow Decision-Making – The interface created friction, especially during time-sensitive client meetings.

Solution

Through user interviews and behavioral analysis, we explored two directions:

• Rebuild from scratch with a new architecture
• Strategic redesign using existing systems but improving clarity and structure

For the MVP, we chose the latter—focusing on high-impact improvements with fast rollout potential.

Key Improvements

Scannable Tables – Rebuilt dense tables into clean, legible rows with meaningful grouping and whitespace.

Simplified Forms – Divided complex forms into logical sections, helping users focus and complete tasks faster.

This wasn't just about making things look better—it was about reducing effort. Where the old design forced users to decode the interface, the new system guides them. The result: fewer mistakes, faster inputs, and more time with clients.

What I Learned

Designing for financial professionals taught me to prioritize clarity under pressure. I learned to balance power with simplicity—ensuring that even advanced users could navigate the interface without feeling overwhelmed.

It also deepened my appreciation for technical collaboration: every detail, from input validation to spacing logic, had to align across design and engineering.
